About 5 months ago good friends to the Pangea team opened up a shop in Northridge, CA; Standard Barbershop. Owner NJ T. opened the shop with a dream to do what he loves and combine cutting hair with the streetwear industry. Just blocks away from Cal State University Northridge the shop has received clientele from all around Los Angeles. Customers have even driven from San Francisco & Las Vegas, just to get a cut from “NJ the Barber.” In the near future NJ wants to expand the shop and begin carrying various streetwear brands such as Hall Of Fame, Crooks N’ Castles, Diamond and of course Pangea just to name a few. One day NJ also hopes to start a complete “Standard” line. If your ever in the area make sure you get your haircut at Standard barbershop… Tell them Pangea sent you!

For his first campaign as creative director for the European brand, Alexander Wang & Balenciaga released their first insight into Fall/Winter 2013. The campaign focuses on the craft, detail and texture of the clothes worn by model Kristen McMenamy. Although McMenamy’s face is not shown, it is obvious the focus of the campaign is the great work that Wang is about to do for Balenciaga. The campaign is said to hit a full run in magazines this June. The ad is also a promotion for the new Men’s & Women’s stores opening up in Manhattan this fall. Can’t wait to see what Wang brings…

Continuing on our Around the World series, we take our next journey to Norway; home of the Atlantic Ocean Road. The road is a 5.2 mile long section of County Road 64. It is built on several small islands and skerries, which are connected by several causeways, viaducts and eight bridges—the most prominent being Storseisundet Bridge. In the 1970s the road was originally suppose to be a railway line, but that did not work out due to the complexity of the pathways. In August 1983 construction began on the road for basic automobiles. Six years later the road was completed. Only problem was the road cost Norway millions of dollars in construction; so a toll was charged in order to use the road. By 1999 the road was paid off and the toll was removed. The Atlantic Ocean Road is now considered a National Tourist Route and is declared to be the world’s best road trip. The road is also seen in popular automobile commercials.
We all dream of that perfect home, well here is more to add to your ultimate dream house waterfalls. Talk about a high water bill, but a waterfall at your house just seems like a beautiful thing to look at. One day…
Over the weekend the Pangea team and myself stayed out in Huntington Beach. The weekend marked the biggest paintball tournament to hit the West Coast, the NPPL (National Players Paintball League). The NPPL took place on the beach as if were a beach volleyball event, skateboarding event or surf tournament. Plenty of people were out to enjoy a weekend full of good weather and find out more about paintball. Some of you who follow us on instagram know how heavy I am into paintball and this weekend marked a high-point in 2013 for my love for the game. I definitely enjoyed myself, learned a lot, but mostly loved the turn-out the event bought. Random beach-goers really watched our event and stuck around to find which teams won and loss. Overall a great weekend, really happy and proud of my team GLXY. Can’t wait for the next event! Thank you to all the support and to the Pangea team for sponsoring us!
Thank you again!

Yesterday the World was shocked when a bombing took place at the annual Boston Marathon. According to sources two different bombs went off towards the finish line of the marathon. A reported three are dead with one of them being an 8 year-old boy. Hospital reports that 144 people are being treated for, with 17 in critical condition and 25 in serious condition. That has been no reports or leads to why this bombing has occurred. President Obama gave a speak yesterday stating that him and the FBI will do whatever they can to find whoever was behind these attacks.
Such a horrid day for everyone. We are all Bostonians now. Together we will get through this…
PRAY FOR BOSTON
